AdvantageResource works closely with Associated General Contractors (AGC) of Kentucky to provide Continuing Education instruction as required by the Kentucky Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction.
The following classes are approved for Electrical Contractor, Elevator Contractor, HVAC (Master, Journeyman) and Plumber (Master, Journeyman) (8 hrs).
Prevailing Wage and More – 6.0 hours
‘Prevailing Wage Overview’ covers the history of Prevailing Wage and provides an introduction to applicable Prevailing Wage laws. Topics discussed include: defining the different types of Prevailing Wage, how Prevailing Wage rates are determined in a given area, when Prevailing Wages must be paid, and examples of Prevailing Wage projects.
‘Certified Payroll Reports’ explains Certified Payroll forms WH-347 and WH-348. Topics include when Certified Payrolls are required and common errors Contractors make when submitting a Certified Payroll. Special attention is given to the proper completion of Certified Payrolls.
‘Prevailing Wage Fringes’ defines fringe benefits in a Prevailing Wage context. Focus is on compliance with the Prevailing Wage fringe benefit requirement while identifying procedures that enable the attendee to take maximum credit towards the required Prevailing Wage for fringes paid.
‘Weighted Average Overtime’, commonly called blended overtime, is a Kentucky requirement that is confusing and often overlooked. Class topics include when overtime pay is required and differences between state and federal overtime law. Attendees are taught to properly calculate the blended overtime rate when an employee works at two or more wage rates in one week.
'401k Simplified', provides an overview of a 401k Retirement Plan with a focus on the Prevailing Wage contractor. Regulations, limits, and options are topics of discussion.
Time is allowed to address specific questions and situations posed by the attendees.
OSHA Safety – 2.0 hours
A two hour safety course presented by a representative of AGC.
